Understanding Sensory Processing: Seeing the World Through a Different Lens

A practical 2-hour workshop for parents and carers

Does your child seem unusually sensitive to noise, textures, or movement?

Do you wonder why certain everyday activities feel overwhelming — or why your child seeks out certain sensations?

Have you ever experienced what the world might feel like through your child’s senses?

This engaging workshop is designed for parents and carers who want to better understand sensory processing differences and how these can affect a child’s daily life at home and school.

Over two hours, you will:

Gain a clear overview of the sensory systems and how they work together

Reflect on your own sensory profile, helping you see how individual differences shape the way we experience the world

Explore how sensory processing differences can impact a child’s engagement, learning, and behaviour

Learn practical strategies and environmental adaptations to support sensory needs in everyday life

Experience sensory processing differences first-hand through interactive activities designed to deepen empathy and understanding

Led by an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist, this workshop offers both knowledge and lived insight, leaving you with a toolkit of strategies to better support your child’s sensory and emotional wellbeing.
